February 28, 2021 – still in lockdown, but loving this process.

I wanted the spout! Beautifully designed curves, detailed with hand painted gilded lines over the white porcelain. By now this pot is a living thing that I get to know more each time I paint it.

I love the way it becomes itself as it rises through the textures into the light, the cup like a punctuation. The strong lines in the ground give this piece a kind of …formality? They rise upward and to the right, anchored by the forms.
