It’s late July 2023 and I’m cooking a show for delivery and response by October of this year.
(Interesting that I just corrected my own typo two times, from 2021 to 2022, then again to 2023. Which tells me that 2021 is when I began the prep work.)
Mom died in January of 2022, which is when I took a course in ink making from natural sources. I made a rainbow of inks over the next year, and learned that every single one of them is different on the page, and in relation to one another.
The show is called Body of Tree. It’s about Change, Memory and Inheritance, and how human stories are like the forest floor.
