February 27 – My first tackle of the sugarbowl drawing, a new form to explore. This torn piece of ground has texture and line that wants to separate the bowl from the saucer – which is perfectly fine, given our forced separateness in covid lockdown, so let’s explore that.

The two pieces are in conversation across a divide, but to me this is a peaceful comforting piece. Reminds me of the video we saw of locked-down Italians singing with each other from their balconies.
