The saucer and the sugar bowl are in conversation across a chaotic divide, but for me this is a peaceful, comforting piece. It reminds me of the video we saw during lockdown and isolation, of Italians singing with each other across the street from their balconies.

February 27 – My first tackle of the sugarbowl drawing, a new form to explore. This torn piece of ground has texture and line that wants to separate the bowl from the saucer – which is perfectly fine, given our forced separateness in covid lockdown, so let’s explore that.

The two pieces are in conversation across a divide, but to me this is a peaceful comforting piece. Reminds me of the video we saw of Italians singing with each other from their balconies during global lockdowns.
